Well my friends, the time has come!! OSLC is only 6 days away! I am in awe of how fast time flies…..at this time last year I was getting ready for my first OSLC, a ball full of nerves and excitment. This year, the nerves and excitment are back in full force. It’s pretty amazing to be able to have a job you work the full year round for and then to see it come to fruition!
One of my biggest passions (besides OSLC) is the theatre. I tell everyone OSLC is like being a stage manager of a show. The moment you say “Cue 1 Go” is basically like Registration Opening!
Running the largest and longest running student leadership conference in Canada is no small feat and I certainly have many people to thank!!
OSLC would not be possible if it was not for the generous support of our sponsors. We are extremely grateful for their help in making OSLC possible!
To the Advisors - I honestly feel like I know you! Even though our contact is bascially through email, I can feel how much love you have for your students and OSLC. Thank you for knowing how important OSLC is to your students. Thank you for putting up with my nagging emails. Thanks for your witty comments and making my days brighter. Thank you for taking the adventure with me!
To the delegates of OSLC - Thank you for being you! For wanting to attend OSLC! For being amazing leaders you already are and bringing so much joy and passion to OSLC. The memories you make a OSLC will last throughout your lifetime. Keep leading and looking for adventures!
To the wonderful hotel staff, especially Liza Kearns and David Nowaczyk. Thank you for being so flexbile and supportive. The adventure awaits for 2016!
To Shane Koyczan, Patrick Maurer and Bob Upgren: You change lives! We are so honoured to have you three be OSLC’s keynote speakers this year. Thank you to the moon and back for all that you do!
To the wonderful workshop presenters - Thank you so incredibly much for your easy going ways, your cheerful emails and just making my job easy! We are blessed to have you all join us this year and set great examples for these future leaders.
To my incredible volunteer staff team - Thank you so much for jumping in (some with your eyes closed) to OLSC and all the background shananigans. I honestly could not do this without you. Thank you for just doing your thing. Half the time things just happen at OSLC without me ever knowing about it. This is thanks to the volunteer staff. They make OSLC happen! Thank you for hugs, emails, laughs and all the support!
And last but not least, Ashley Baer, Stu Saunders and Ian Tyson. You are my rocks! You allow me to breathe, You have my back! I adore you to the moon and back! The adventure continues in 2016!
Bring on the next week! I am exited to see all your excited faces! You bring a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. There are not enough words to say how grateful I am for all of you.
“You may feel like Space Mountain or The Teacups or Pirates of the Carribbean, but no matter what, it is sure to be an adventure”
Thank you for taking this adventure with me!
