Exactly two months from today OSLC 2015 will be in wrap up. Where does a year go?
I am sure a lot of you are dealing with a lot of changing aspects in your lives right now. New classes, new teachers, new courses, maybe new friends and new learning opportunities. At the beginning of 2015 I thought I would just be running OSLC all over again, but like many things, Conference is changing constantly and I have had to learn to adapt. We do! We adapt, we grow, we learn! When we stop looking at “change” as a big scary thing and think of it as opportunites or really awesome challenges it acutally allows you see all these “new things” as pretty wonderful things.
I am looking forward to these new things coming at OSLC this year. We are using a new company called Superior Events for our inflatables. For the first time we are hosting our Marketplace in the Crowne Plaza Grand Ballroom. We have brand new volunteer staff joining us as well as brand new schools. Shane Koyczan is going to do an unbelievable job at being our Opening Keynote and we have some brand spankin new workshop presenters this year including: Kevin Rempel, Kelly Lovell and Jonathan Hood.
Along with the changes of OSLC I do like to point on the constants as well. Evolution DJ will be hosting the Monday Night Dance again and I have been told it is going to be even “bigger and better than last year”. We have some familiar faces coming back to present amazing workshops such as : Christal Earle, Blake Fly, Mark Black and Scott Hammell.
Advisors, you have the oppurtunity to attend the Advisors Social on the Monday Night. I have found some pretty epic prizes this year for our auction and raffle. We will likely bring back the photo booth and a couple rounds of DOUBLES! Who knows…A Game Show could be involved as well:)
So as I look at this list of changes and constants I realize that while it is all well and good to stay the same, change equals growth. Change equals oppurtunities. Change equals good!
Go out there and grab some “good”. It will change you for the better!
